Free English Lessons

Taught by Trainee Teachers
LTC Brighton offers free lessons taught by trainees on our CELTA teacher training programme up to six times every year.

We offer four-week courses of free lessons  up to six times per year. These are taught by trainees who are studying to become English teachers on our Cambridge CELTA course. They are supervised by experienced teachers.

We offer two levels of courses – one at upper intermediate level (CEFR B2) and one at pre-intermediate to intermediate level (CEFR A2-B1).

Classes run for four weeks from Monday – Friday, beginning on the first Tuesday after our CELTA course starts. Classes are daily from 10:00 a.m. until 12.15 p.m. but you do not have to attend every day. We charge a £10 registration fee and ask all students to complete a short enrolment form. Registration opens a few weeks before the beginning of each course. Places are limited and courses fill up very quickly.

We may not be able to offer you a course if you are not the right level or if places are not available.

The only way to book this course is to come to the school in person, complete a short registration form and pay the £10 fee in cash.

Students taking free lessons are not officially LTC students. We cannot provide any letters, student cards or certificates, homestay service or access to facilities such as the computer room or language laboratory.

The first day is always a Tuesday. We usually open registration 2 – 3 weeks before the start date (once we can confirm the course will run). Prospective students are advised to check with the school

Please note that our free lessons are not covered by the British Council and ISI accreditation schemes.
