Our exam courses are for students who want a recognised and respected international examination of English for future studies, to improve their career changes or who need a goal in order to push their language skills still further.

If you want to take Cambridge First Certificate Examination (FCE), this 20 lesson course is extremely effective. It covers the skills and strategies necessary for the FCE and assessment methods and most suitable techniques for gaining the best possible result for you.

On your course, you will be working with highly motivated students with a common aim.  The focus is on the essential grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills needed for the Reading, Writing and Use of English papers together with the listening, spoken and pronunciation skills needed for the Speaking and Listening papers

Your teachers are experienced examination teachers who take part in F.C.E  training sessions and conferences.   They will expect you to work hard and you will be given homework every night, examination practice and revision tests. A full practice examination in exam conditions is part of the course.

You will have regular tutorials with your teacher or the Director of Studies to assess your progress, listen to any problems you have and highlight areas where you could improve your results.

You must be upper intermediate (level B2) in order to take this examination

We lend you a coursebook for this course but you may be advised to buy workbooks (approximate cost £15 -20) Extra materials are also provided as part of the course and you can do extra study in our study centre. You will be tested to assess your level before being able to book this course.

General English students can move to this course at no extra cost if they have the agreement of the Director of Studies, are a suitable level and there is room

Certificates and Reports

At the end of your studies with LTC, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance and a report from your teacher

Examinations

There is the possibility to take the IELTS course in the afternoon.  We can also offer the TOEIC or TOEFL exams by special arrangement

At the end of your studies with LTC you will be given a certificate if you have attended at least 80% of your lessons. You will also be given a report from your teacher.
